I think this is a new topic after a brief scan of previous posts. I am using Geo synth as a controller for Thumbjam instruments. This has been quite enjoyable once I sorted out all the connections and 'special' MIDI settings for huge pitch-bends; it is great having both the capabilities of Geo synth and the exceedingly high quality Thumbjam voices. Thank you for Sonosaurus for making such a versatile and capable app!

So my question: I would like to record my Geo/Thumbjam sessions with Thumbjam's features. Trouble is when I hit record and go over to Geo, Thumbjam stops recording. Now, I know I can't record the audio being produced by Geo, and hopefully ios musicians will be in a whole new world soon with the advent of Audiobus. But for the time being I am curious if anyone knows if Thumbjam has a way to continue recording in the background?

Thank you again Sonosaurus for the great app and.. quick shout out for the scale editing features and scala file input! Been keeping busy calculating whole number ratios and building custom scales in Scala and Thumbjam helps me hear the results like no other!

-EDIT---> OK, Just saw it in Miscellaneous. Asked and answered. Will probably be a moot issue soon with Audiobus... so anyways, thank you again for the awesomeness!

Have you checked the new update? It will make you very happy. I started session record switched to GeoSynth played the part there and the results were perfect. Then I used Prefs/Import Export/Browse Audio to Export/Sessions then selected the session and used audiocopy and pasted into Hokusai. A little touch up there and it was ready to be pasted back as a loop! Well, actually I pasted it into a NanoStudio trg pad but you get the picture.

Just experimenting so not sure if this is the best workflow. Would love to hear how other people are using the new background recording feature.
